Our Sheroes’ Hangout, a model café project to benefit acid attack survived women have been appreciated by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of India. The award was received by one of our doyenne acid attack survivor Roopa by the Honorable President of India Mr.  Pranab Mukherjee in Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 8th March 2017 celebrated as International Women’s Day. Following the day she was also appreciated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi.

Stop Acid Attacks was chosen as the winner in the category of Social Change. The award was received by prominent activist & the Director Alok Dixit for his relentless campaign Stop Acid Attacks in India and to the remarkable initiative of the Sheroes’ Hangout model café project to benefit women who have faced acid attacks in their past.

Our Campaign has been honored with CNN, Indian of the Year back in 2013. The CNN-IBN Indian of the Year is an award presented annually to various Indians for their work in their respective fields by the Indian media house CNN-IBN. The awards are presented in various categories of Politics, Sports, Business, Entertainment, Public Service and Global Indian.

National Commission for Women ‘Outstanding Women Award’ 2014

Stop Acid Attacks was facilitated by National Commission for Women for their outstanding efforts towards the rehabilitation of survivors of Acid Attacks. The Outstanding Women Award is an Indian award presented annually by the National Commission for Women to women in India who have shown leadership, courage, resourcefulness, and willingness to sacrifice for others, especially in promoting women's rights.
